I'm new at this just wanted to know if anyone knows how to get to that flat top hill near mojave from Ridgecrest. In the mining guide places of interest says people are finding relics. This is in kern county area. Thanks for any he'll on directions

Oldjoe,

Not sure exactly where you are referring to, but have you tried GoogleMaps or Google Earth? You can start with an address you know is on the same road, and then just "drive" along there, looking at the aerial map to figure out how to navigate there. I have done this before with several interesting things i have seen from the roadside, and most of the time it has gotten me there (eventually - there is some trial and error).

Watch for construction sites. If you can get permission after some of the topsoil is pushed around. Or pushed up in a pile you can detect around through the dirt pile. A friend and I found a lot of old items that way when an old Hotel was being moved . I am out on jobsites while working, and found old coins and even a stone tool on the clay layer below the topsoil. Not quite sure how that would be out west.

There is an old homeplace in front of my house i am hoping to detect one day .The well is still there nut it is a field now.
