A friend told me about it. Seems it's an overlay for Google Earth that displays mining claims of all types. It also links to BLM's LR2000.

They have a free seven day trial and then it's a $35.00 per year per computer license.

Has anybody heard of or used this? I'm wondering if this might be a good investment.

    Thanks -------------------------------------

Christine: We have been using Mine Cache for about 4 years now. I love it! I found it a little daunting at first learning how to use it but once I got the hang of it, it is really easy to use. I love that it uses Google Earth because you can switch to a view of a claim that actually shows the topography. Being older (and a little physically challenged), I can see the claims that I probably wouldn't want to attempt! They are great about sending updates via email. As with all products, you need to investigate a claim to make sure it is available for prospecting. We use it to map our club's claims to hand out to members.

Chris, Yes I agree with Nancy this is a great tool to use. It is really simple to use, sometimes you might need to refresh the file, because it actually accesses the data live from MineCache active server. He usually does updates every couple of months and being that you are tied in to LR2000 you get all the information in a few clicks. It sure is worth 35 bucks for the year.

MineCache will also give you GPS coordinates which is a good thing you can get gold maps also but no GPS I have both and any thing you can use to find more gold is a good thing in my book!!
