I prefer the Gold Cube any day.  I have used both and IMO there is no comparison.  Not to mention the versatility of the gold cube, where the blue bowl is a one trick wonder.

There is no comparison between the two and as far as I am concerned they were designed for separate purposes.  I owned a Blue Bowl until someone stole it out of the back of my pickup (Thank goodness).  I also own a 4 stacker Gold Cube.  The Blue Bowl is used to separate the gold from the black sand small blond sand once it is refined to that point, like after you run it on through the Gold Cube and screen it down.  I use the Gold Cube to get my material down to the point that I could run it through the Blue Bowl if I still had it.  I live in Colorado and the gold there is mostly fine and too small for the Blue Bowl.  I was told by the manufacturer of the Blue Bowl that is does not get fine gold very well, and from my experience, it doesn't. There are several other superior methods of recovering fine gold.  It does work good for larger gold flakes.  What I use now is the Catch-It-Two water table.  I take my material and run it through the Gold Cube first and then screen it down and spoon it on the Catch-It-Two water table.  The Catch-It-Two water table is slow but you can recover gold so fine that you need a magnifying glass to see it.

I dont think you can really compare the blue bowl to the cube. I know some folks that use the cube as a production machine but it is basically a clean up sluice, it produces a super concentrate, a blue bowl in correct operation will produce clean gold, that is a big difference.

I have used the gold cube a few times and The Gold Hog multi sluice and would take the Multi sluice and day over the Cube. unless you like panning for hours and hours. just my opinion.

It would be interesting to see a test of:
Gold Cube
Keene Mini Max
Gold Hog Multisluice

10+, 40+, 60+ and 100+ mesh tests to quantify the efficiency of each. (also note the optimum gpm of water to gauge how much water you need from the creek or a recirc system)

I ran over 1 cubic yard of 12-20+ mesh through the cube and recovered a little more than a cup of cons. I was able to pan this in 45 seconds, no losses in the tailings

I love the blue bowl and am considering a gold cube for my next large mining related purchase

I have the Gold Cube and the frustrating Blue Bowl.
I’m about ready to contribute it to the land fill.
The Gold Cube by far is a different technology easy to set up and captures all the gold.

The two units do two different things! The cube is more used to get your concentrates and the blue is to process the concentrates afterwords. If your trying to get concentrates than take a look at the Keene Mini Max Concentrator. It comes with the Keene Miracle Mat to finish your Concentrates down to a very manageable amount of material to finish up with you blue bowl or just pan them out. It comes with a 2200 gph pump to run your system. It folds up to a smaller size to fit in most trunks and to carry back to your secret gold prospecting area.
I got mine at AB Prospecting

It has been said a few times in this thread but to reiterate, Gold Cube for Production-Blue Bowl for final recovery. Two completely different tools in the tool box that work quite well together. Does no good to have a ratchet and no sockets.
I had a couple of hundred pounds of Nome beach concentrates that I continually ran through the Gold Cube then the finals into the Bowl. although tedious at times the final recovery was excellent.
Now that I have crushed all of the cons it is time to do it all over again. Summer clean up when it's 120° outside.

Mr. Hoagland,

Where do you go in Alaska now since GPAAs Cripple River Camp is no longer operating?

Hopefully I’m not too late to add to the discussion. I came into my gold fever adventure buying just about every contraption out there. No joke I wanted to get as perfect as possible with recovery. I didn’t want to spend the hours digging to watch my hard work skip over the edge.
After running hundreds of buckets just testing the various machines I found 2 that have been absolutely the best. I exclusively use the Gold Cube for all my buckets now and finish with the blue spiral wheel. I’ve even ran my tailings back through the gold cube and found nothing. I test pan the spiral wheel tailings and have only found 3 microscopic pieces I’d had missed without my goggles on.
Hopefully this will help someone not make my mistakes of buying almost everything first.

Thanks Tim. I buy all my stuff from you guys in Mesa. We're having a get together next weekend at one of our claims next weekend. I'm heading up there next Friday and camping out for the weekend in Hayden. Wish me luck 😁😁😁😁😁
