I am researching 3" suction hoses, and have found some good prices on Kanaflex hoses.   I am looking for opinions about the quality and durability of these hoses from anyone who uses them.

Any info will be greatly appreciated.

I have used Kana Flex and a few others. For suction always use clear hose to see where the obstructions are in the hose. The clear with external ribs is more flexible, not as durable long term. Judgment call. I prefer the flexibility over long term durability less work on the muscle. When not in use hang up out of the sun. As with any hose UV and extreme heat is bad. Keep em clean, well stored, long life. Duct tape extends the life to, wrap up high wear areas.

    Hope this helps

Good advice; The inquiring party is a long time dredger.  As for the other readers, your advice on use and storage is "spot on".  I too prefer clear hose in order to locate jams.  As far as durability, "ah' they last as long as you repair them well at the time of notice.  Home Depot sells a roll of Silicone Self Sieving Tape that does wonders for punctures.  Comes in six colors, including clear.

    Good luck!
