The state of Tennessee has just issued their Final Draft of a Tennessee Recreational Prospecting Permit. The permit takes affect on June 30, 2014 and runs for one year. If this permit takes affect, we will lose 95% of the waterways in the state to prospect. Both hand operated and dredging operations! Read it and the comments posted. We need anyone who plans to prospect in Tennessee to band together with us and stop this permit before it is issued. Please post your comments and questions on our forum. If this happens to us, it will eventually happen in your state. Hi Chuck. Sorry to hear about the dredging woes in Tennessee. We will continue to cover the issue in the Pick & Shovel Gazette and encourage all of our members to support your fight to get dredgers back in the water. We encourage Tennessee members to call your state senators and local news media to expose the raw deal dredgers are getting. And, remember dredging doesn’t harm fish; it benefits fish and fish habitat.
