1 Replies and 13915 Views Legal Foot Valve 5/64 or 3/32...How?  13915  1 Started by  MOJAVEJOE@VERIZON.NET OK Guys, Foot valve intake screen now has to be 5/64ths square or 3/32nds round holes, in WA.  How is this being accomplished I saw one guy that had a mesh bag with small holes wrapped around his stock foot valve. It was about twice as big as the foot valve so no restriction of flow.  But where to find such a bag Looked like a good idea though.                      &nbs...

6 Replies and 9546 Views Processing 50 and higher mess for fine gold  9546  6 Started by  hunterjoe@comcast.net If you had one choice what would you buy or use to process cons for fine gold  I do understand classification has a big part in this. I have used the blue bowl, bucket sluice and a few diy projects.  Also does the spiral wheel work I thought of building a shaker table. I just wish someone made a shaker table for a small guy. I can not justify spending that type of money for something I would use maybe 1to2 times a year when I go on vacation from FL at GA.

1 Replies and 6652 Views Hookah AIr Systems  6652  1 Started by  freddie.beckjr@yahoo.com Looking into purchasing a Hookah system for use with my dredge. Don't want to go T80/gas powered and only use battery powered unit. I know you are limited to underwater time with them due to being battery but will have 2 batteries with me. only will be using about 2-3 hours max since most of my dredging is in shallow water (long arming) but want it in case I get into some good material that I need to get head under water. Been looking at the HOOKAHMAX, Brownie3rdlung, and Gator-gill systems but ...

2 Replies and 6426 Views The Gold Webb  6426  2 Started by  cmckeever@comcast.net Hi, Saw a You Tube video on 'The Gold Webb.'  https://www.youtube.com/watchv=ZeQ0U_EmKFc    It claims to recover 'clean gold' from 'black sand.'  One of the questions asked the poster was if it recovers -100 mesh gold.  The poster did not answer.   I was just wondering if anyone has tried 'The Gold Webb' out and did it recover real fine gold.  I have occasion to do beach prospecting and the best I can find is -50 mesh but mostly -100 and smaller.

3 Replies and 6874 Views Trailer/Camper  6874  3 Started by  freddie.beckjr@yahoo.com Ok here is my new baby. 6x12 trailer that I made some changes to. First it is a little higher on the inside than a standard 6x12 as it has a 6' 6' interior height (bought it that way). Ok now I put shelving and created a table/storage area in the 'V' nose area to put my chairs/cot/personal gear in. Next I made a moveable wall with door to put on the back end to enclose the trailer but have access ( basically creating a camper shell). I also made 2 blocks for the ramp to sit on to turn it into a ...

2 Replies and 9064 Views Gold Cube Trommel ...water flow question  9064  2 Started by  goldcricket6@yahoo.com Hi, I recently purchased the gold cube - trommel combo.  I fired it up this weekend for the first time and it seems to be working fine except the water that comes out in the large trommel area (meaning the area where you shovel the cons in) is coming out in occasional spurts instead of a steady flared flow like shown in Mikes beach video.  I am using the 1100 pump that came with the gold cube...the long water tube in the revolving area of the  trommel seems to be working ok,...

0 Replies and 5054 Views Cellphone reception  5054  0 Started by  ompomelet@gmail.com Where I am right now (mountainous region in Northeastern Oregon) it is not uncommon to have zero cellphone reception. Since anything can happen from Snakebites to landslides to bad falls or just bad luck, I dislike the idea of being out of contact since most of the time, I'll be prospecting alone. I discussed it with my brother in law and he sent me these two links: http://www.findmespot.com/en/ http://www.findmespot.com/en/ It appears to be an affordable and practical solution to the probl...

4 Replies and 7809 Views Prospecting equipment wish list  7809  4 Started by  ompomelet@gmail.com The place I am moving to work next, (in the Wallowa valley, Oregon) is all Glacial soil. 12 miles from town is a lake dammed in by glacial moraine. (Wallowa lake) So I started reading up on prospecting glacial moraine and ran across this lovely article: http://www.mygoldpanning.com/findingglacialgold.html Seems this guy was directed where to dig by an older, more experienced miner when he was 16. 2 days and 7 ft. later digging down into the soil behind a moraine, he uncovered a little over 14 o...

1 Replies and 8730 Views Nearly cost me a pump  8730  1 Started by  michaeljudd57@gmail.com Was getting ready for an outing and fires my pump up. Northern Tool Northstar 2 inch hi pressure pump. Noticed a noise that was like something vibrating metal to metal. Could find nothing so I figured I would start with the easiest. Pulled the pump apart and checked everything. All seemed ok so I fired it up again , no noise now. Was dumbfounded so started cleaning everything up to put together. Started cleaning the housing and noticed 2 small cracks inside at the bottom near the drain. Looked a...
