GPAA Outings fun, family-oriented events

GPAA Outings are fun, family-oriented events and offer all participants an opportunity to enjoy a few days at your choice of Lost Dutchman’s Mining Association camps. Outings are so popular that many members choose to participate in several per season. They offer members a chance to participate in common dig gold operations, learn about metal detectors, take highbanking classes, share prospecting and mining techniques, compete in fun contests, meet new friends and enjoy a potluck feast. Members can choose to participate in three-day or five-day outings.

Outings offer GPAA members taste of LDMA camps

East Coast Outings Representatives Bill & June Cox are already at the Athens LDMA Camp in Michigan to kick off the last of three GPAA outings this month. The first two outings were held at Lost Dutchman’s Mining Association camps at Loud Mine near Cleveland, Georgia and Vein Mountain near Marion, North Carolina.

Vein Mountain LDMA Camp Caretaker John Boudreau and his wife, Abbi, were quick to offer me a warm welcome as I entered the camp and by all accounts the participants — both LDMA and GPAA members — had a great time and found some gold.

Vein Mountain Outing teeming with excitement, gold fever

East Coast Outing Representatives Bill & June Cox are already busy running events and welcoming participants to the Vein Mountain Outing at the popular LDMA Camp in North Carolina. Vein Mountain LDMA Camp Caretaker John Boudreau and his wife, Abbi, were quick to offer me a warm welcome as I entered the camp and it seems the Outing is off to a great start. The camp is full of families and children having a good time.

Wil Wilcox, "The Nugget Man", has already set up shop at the camp, along with many other old-timers and familiar faces.

Pure Georgia Gold

The Loud Mine Outing got off to a thunderous start with gold, good people, good times... and a heavy Georgia rain shower and light show, but sunshine and bright smiles prevailed Friday.

Blue Bucket Outing moved to Burnt River

The scheduled Outing at the LDMA Blue Bucket Camp, Oregon, September 21-25, 2011 has been changed to the LDMA Burnt River Camp, Oregon which is near Durkee, Oregon. For registration and information, please contact the GPAA Member Services Department at 1-(800) 551-9707. For additional Outing information, please refer to your GPAA Claims Club Membership Mining Guide on pages FS-12 & 13

Peaches, panning and pure gold

GPAA and LDMA members are panned out some fine color at the Loud Mine LDMA Camp last week while a few camped out at Oconee LDMA Camp in South Carolina. And. another three- and five-day outing will run until Sunday in North Carolina this week. Ain’t that a peach!

Due to popularity, the 2011 GPAA/LDMA Stanton Outing has reached capacity for participation. Regretfully, no further registrations will be accepted (including walk-ins) for the April 22-24 (Easter weekend) Stanton Outing. GPAA/LDMA hopes that you will make plans and register for the upcoming Dec. 29-31 (New Year’s weekend) Outing!

Due to the popularity, the 2010 GPAA/LDMA Stanton Outing has reached capacity for participations. Regretfully, no further registrations will be accepted for the Stanton Outing, this includes no walk-ins. GPAA/LDMA hopes that you will make plans and register for the upcoming 2011 April Outing!
