GPAA reaches out to more members with 20 shows
With three Gold & Treasure Shows down, four to go in March and 13 more shows set for the rest of this year, the GPAA’s gold show crews are once again all revved up and ready to roll. The show in Mesa, Ariz. was a phenomenal success on all levels — record attendance of 2,921, vendor participation, wide variety of displays — including gold, gems and other finds, such as relics and historical artifacts and products — as well as more mining and prospecting equipment. Besides these improvements, this year’s shows are better organized, said GPAA Director of Operations Dominic Ricci. Ultimately, showgoers are learning more about gold prospecting and having more fun.

GPAA to host 20 Gold & Treasure Shows in 2012
The Gold Prospectors Association of America will more than double the number of Gold & Treasure Shows on its nationwide tour in 2012.
GPAA Event Manager Amber White said the theme of next year’s shows will be education and returning to our roots.
One way for the GPAA to reach out to members is by holding more Gold & Treasure Shows in more locations. The shows are designed to teach people how to prospect, an outdoor activity they can enjoy with their friends and families, and introduce them to the kinship of the GPAA community.
“This year we had nine shows and next year we are stepping up to 20,” White said.
“Some of them were high demand places that our chapters really pushed for and the local chapters did much of the legwork. We have our select few that we do every year, such as Pomona, Mesa, Puyallup and Las Vegas, but other locations were selected based on the high demand.”
