The weather has been beautiful, with mostly sunny days, and cool, but not cold nights. With the rain we have had this year the Tundra has reached unsurpassed shades greens from light green to moss green to emerald green and all shades in between, colors not seen in 14 years.

Greetings from the Cripple River Gold Camp!
The weather has shown a distinct improvement, with several days of sunshine and warm weather, and even the cloudy days we had have been warmer and nice with no mosquitoes! The beautiful Bering Sea has been cooperating and the beach boxes are singing, the sand is running through them and flour gold is being gathered by our hardy miner folk.

Yesterday was an important day here. An endangered species this year at our Gold Camp — the sun — came out and shone down brightly on human and beastie alike in all its golden glory!

Yesterday a large bunch of seals decided to take a look-see at our gold camp. This group of 30 or more seals (according to Mary Phillips also more properly called a harem, a herd, a pod or a rookery) swam in to about 50 yards from shore right across from our camp.

The weather continues to be off-again-on-again with a sunshiny day, then a cold rainy day. Or, or like the Fourth of July, warm and sunny in the morning and turning to cold and rainy by 2 o’clock.
Dressing in layered clothing, carrying rain gear and bug dope has never been more important than it is this year of changeable weather if you want to stay comfortable!

Greetings again from the Cripple River Gold Camp!
Summer is here again in far north Alaska and so are we. There is so much news to report I’m like a three headed chicken in a patch of spilled grain, I don’t know which area to start pecking at first.
