Outings are so popular that many members choose to participate in  several per season. They offer members a chance to   participate in  common dig gold operations, learn about metal detectors, take   highbanking classes, share prospecting and mining techniques, compete in  fun contests, meet new friends and enjoy a potluck feast.  Members can  choose to participate in three-day or five-day outings.&lt;/p&gt;

The first two outings were held at Lost Dutchman’s Mining  Association camps at Loud Mine near Cleveland, Georgia and Vein Mountain  near Marion, North Carolina.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Vein Mountain LDMA Camp Caretaker John Boudreau and his wife, Abbi,  were quick to offer me a warm welcome as I entered the camp and by all  accounts the participants — both LDMA and GPAA members — had a great  time and found some gold.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

&lt;p&gt;East  Coast Outing Representatives Bill &amp; June Cox are already busy  running events and welcoming participants to the Vein Mountain Outing at  the popular LDMA Camp in North Carolina. Vein Mountain LDMA Camp Caretaker John Boudreau and his wife, Abbi,  were quick to offer me a warm welcome as I entered the camp and it seems  the Outing is off to a great start. The camp is full of families and children having a good time.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Wil Wilcox, "The Nugget Man", has already set up shop at the camp, along with many other old-timers and familiar faces.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;GPAA and LDMA members are panned out some fine color at the Loud Mine  LDMA Camp last week while a few camped out at Oconee LDMA Camp in South Carolina. And. another three- and five-day outing will run until Sunday in North Carolina this week. Ain’t that a peach!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;We want to hear your stories&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;If you have a story suggestion, we’d love to hear from you. Email GPAA Editor / Content Director Brad Jones at: &lt;a&gt;bjones@goldprospectors.org&lt;/a&gt;.  We are looking for stories about gold prospecting, gem hunting,  treasure seeking, metal detecting, lost treasure, historical mining and  Old West (South) stories. Jones is currently in North Carolina at Vein  Mtn. and will be touring the area prospecting for stories this week.&lt;/p&gt;
