Every year at this time, I start getting a little nervous because October means the last two gold shows of the season. You would think with all the shows behind us, or all the shows we survived from the first of the year, we might be pros by now. Not so much.
With the long break of returning to the office to work, focusing on Alaska and all the other outings, you almost forget what to expect, what you were supposed to bring and what you were supposed to fix. Sometimes we can be a very organized mess!
As we worked hard to pack up all the pans and all the stuffed donkeys, everything down to the coffee that would keep us awake with the three-hour time change, I started to finally get excited! This was my first time overseeing the loading of our gold show truck and it was quite the learning experience. Thank goodness for the help of an experienced truck driver or I would still be loading that truck and it’s now November!
Once we arrived at Concord, N.C. and started to set up, everything fell into place. A big thanks to all of our volunteers from both North Carolina and Pennsylvania for all their hard work and great company. I would also like to thank all of the folks who traveled to attend the shows. I had the chance to see some old friends and met so many great people. Can’t wait till next year!
