Job description for the position of Accounting Assistant:
The general duties may include Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, Daily Deposits Preparation, Maintenance of Income and Expense reports, Daily posting of batches into current software program and daily posting of journal entries into the General Ledger. Other duties could include accounting for events paperwork and payments as well as maintenance of Fixed Assets and Prepaid Schedules. This position reports directly to the Accounting Manager. You must be able to set and meet measurable goals for yourself. You must understand and comply with company expectations and be able to communicate openly with staff and management.
As an Accounting Assistant your role may involve higher level accounting practices that will assist the Accounting Manager in producing accurate and timely financial statements. It's equally important for you to build knowledge and understanding of our current accounting software as well as the Customer Database program. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required. This is a position that requires a great deal of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, problem solving abilities and confidentiality. A minimum of two years experience in general accounting is desirable. Must have working knowledge of computers, printers, 10 key calculators and copy machines. This position may require a credit check as well as the standard background check and drug screening. All work will be done from our offices in Temecula, CA, Monday - Friday, 8 AM-5 PM.
This position requires physical activities such as bending, stooping, repetitive hand motions such as typing and 10 key use, standing for short periods, viewing computer monitors and sitting for prolonged periods.
