Forest Service officials are asking for feedback about proposed changes to their land management plans in Los Padres, Angeles, Cleveland and San Bernardino national forests. The changes would modify existing land use zones in some roadless areas to include more backcountry nonmotorized and recommended wilderness areas.
The proposed change is part of a settlement agreement. Four hearings are scheduled. The only one on the Central Coast is in Santa Maria on May 31, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Santa Maria Red Cross, 3030 Skyway Drive.
